Husky

Perhaps it's cheating a bit for me to write a critique of this because I saw your step-by-step on our wwanon forum. But in a way, that makes me feel all the more compelled to do so.
Having seen the initial stages you took this through I am stunned by the end result and impressed with the amount of work (and presumably hours) that went into it.
One of the things I especially love about this piece is it's simplicity - the background is little more than 3 bands of colour and yet it places the husky perfectly in it's environment and looks so real for all it's simplicity.
The husky itself is breathtaking and the way you use complimentary shades (creamy yellows against the blues) makes the dog stand out and yet grounds him in the picture, which harmonises as a whole because of your colour choices. I would probably have used grays for the dog, which would have left the overall picture cold and flat, where yours is warm and full of movement.
The use of the glow layer is inspired as well as the touches of blue in the shadows on the dog - both lending a depth of field that adds to it's realism and sense of movement.
Again, knowing what you did to create the snowflake spray at the dog's paws is deceptively simple and yet so effective.
You obviously have a very good eye for detail and they say it's the detail that makes all the difference. That shows in your work and lifts it into another league - truly first class work!
This gives me something to aspire to!
